Kettner's Science

Complete your rough draft of the "What's a crowd?" lab. 7th hour will be
peer editing during tomorrow's class and 3rd hour will be doing the same
on Wednesday. Both classes have to turn their final draft in on Friday,
December 4th.

Today we finished up the Soviet Union and its former nations. They
received a new map on the Middle East and North Africa.
Current event due Friday on any North African or Middle Eastern country
we labeled on the map.

Dec. Activity Log

Mon. 11/30
Today all P.E. classes received their December activity log handout.
Students need to record their sleep hours and daily activities.
Students please be specific with your activities and minutes. For
example: basketball practice 1 hour or walk the dog 15 mins. The
activity log is a calender so if lost create your own. Due date is Dec.
16.
Reflection question for this month: How does weather affect your
activity level? Give at least five examples of indoor activities you can
do this winter to stay active.

Students should finish their Creature packet. Make sure that you have
clearly thought out the adaptations that your organism needs inorder to
survive your given biome. Make sure that the drawing is neat, colorful

Today students were given the second sheet of the Creature packet. They
were also given worksheets 2-4 and 2-5. The packet, worksheets, and
note taking guide are all due by next Wednesday. Students have been
instructed to turn these in as they are complete. Tomorrow, we will
also discuss the lab report that they are expected to complete from our
plant investigation.

Mercer Science

Today we talked about heat transfer and how heat and energy cause
weather. Homework: finish the 3.1b worksheet.

Mercer Humanities

Today we finished the Geo Bee.
Current events due tomorrow. The topic of the article has to deal with
one of the former Soviet Union countries.

Kettner's Science

Today we took apart our plants and made lots of observations. Stusents
made their last measurements and tomorrow we will talk about writing out
our lab report. Any students absent will be allowed to use notes from
members from their groups.

Homework: Make sure that you have completed all your research about
your biome and have filled our your creature's profile. We will also go
over the note-taking guide tomorrow as well.

groups they decided if certain countries were ready to be a part of the

Mercer Science

We have started our new unit on Catastophic Events. Most of the work
will be done in class. There will not be a science book to take home,
however copies can be made if work is not completed in class. Students
were supposed to return a signed safety contract today. Please read them
over with your students. We are asking for empty 2 liter bottles for
class.

Mercer Humanities

Students took the European/Soviet Union test today.
All students need to read pages 161 -165. On page 165 students need to
complete the entire section 3 assessment for Wednesday.

Kettner's Science

Groups worked on their invasive species posters in class.

Homework: Study for the vocabulary quiz. There will be 22 vocabulary
words from Chapter 2 sections 1-3 that will have to matched up to the
proper definitions. You will also have to be able to label 2 diagrams
(water cycle and carbon cycle).

HOMEWORK
November Activity Log
This month students are recording their daily intake of junk food along
with their activity and sleep hours. Students were given a handout to
record on. The reflection question for this month: Based on your
recording of activity, junk food and sleep what are some changes you may
need to make? Tell how you will incorporate these changes and how they
will affect you positively.

Activity log is due on Monday, Nov. 24. Be sure your log is neat and
complete.

Kettner's Science

We continued our activity about invasive species in the Great Lakes.
Each group was given an invasive species to research. Each group will be
responsible to make a "Most unWanted" poster and a cartoon about their
species. All research should be complete before class tomorrow.

Homework: There will be a matching vocabulary quiz on the terms from
Chapter 2, section 1-3. The vocabulary terms can be found on page 79 in
the textbook. Students should make flash cards tonight to prepare.

Kettner's Science

We completed a "Biogeography check-up" at the beginning of class. Once
we discussed those concepts we started an activity to learn about the
invasive species in the Great Lakes. If you were absent today, please
do the Section Review at the end of 2-3 and turn it in on Monday - this
will replace the check-up we did in class. Enjoy the weekend!
