Today we concluded lab 5.1 - we saw how convection currents form and
move throughout the air.

Homework: Read pages 48-50 in your Weather and Climate books and
complete the section review found on page 50.

Mercer Science

Today we reviewed information from yesterday about the earth's layers.
Students read about Alfred Wegener and his continental drift theory.
They then completed 10 questions on what they have read.

Today we went over information about Israel.
Students must have the 9 questions answered about the nation of Turkey
for tomorrow.
The chapter 9 assessment on pgs 274-275 must be completed for Thursday.

other concepts such and continental drift and the correlation between
heat and pressure with depth.

Today we discussed lab 3.1. This lab showed us that land heats up and
cools off faster than water. What effect does this have on our weather?
Tomorrow, we will do an activity that will help us start to answer that

notebook. You should also take notes on the layers of the atmosphere.
The layers can also be found in your Weather books.

Today current event articles were collected and some presented them.
Students were given a profile of someone who lost their life during the
civil rights movement. They are to read them and prepare to share that
persons story with the class on Tuesday.

Today we graphed our data from yesterday's lab and drew conclusions

Physical Education 1/5/10

Students received their January activity log handout today. Students
should record their sleep and activity hours daily on the calender.
This months reflection question: "Explain the importance of a proper
warm up and cool down. Describe these basic stretching exercises and
the muscles they work." This assignment is due Monday, January 24th.

Today third hour worked in groups to create a web of Natural
Catastrophic events. This will be our next unit of study. Seventh hour
presented their webs and then took a pre-assessment about these events.

Today we looked at weather maps and will continue to use analyze weather
maps to prepare for the upcoming science test. A test date has not been

Today we went over the details that should have been present in their
Egypt/Mesopotamia paper. All students need to add or change the
information on their paper and turn in their final draft on Wednesday.
On Friday Jan. 8th the Middle East and North Africa map test will be
